Introducing Forest Floor: Winter, Glorious Globes, and Nesting Frames: Rectangles

Good morning, friends, and welcome back for Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink November countdown! Today we're showcasing my Forest Floor: Winter, Glorious Globes: November, and Nesting Frames: Rectangles die collection! I am super excited about all three of these new products and I can't wait to share, so let's get to it!

First up I have a card made with Forest Floor: Winter. One of the most frequent sights around here in the winter are animal tracks in the snow. I love walking to the mailbox and finding evidence of my woodland friends on the way. So I included both deer and rabbit tracks in the set. I used the deer print on my card for today.

I began by clear embossing the deer print along the edge of my card base. I lightly sponged Aqua Mist over the embossing and then splattered super diluted reinker and silver watercolor to add a bit of texture. It's really pretty and subtle in real life, but it was a bear to photograph, so I hope you can see it.

Then, I used one of the Nesting Frames: Rectangles to cut a simple border into my card base. I cut a Nesting Basics: Rectangle from Pure Poppy to fit inside the frame and then used another Nesting Frames shape to add a pierced detail to that layer. I heat embossed the decorative frame from Forest Floor: Winter onto that panel with silver embossing powder before adhering it to the front of my card.

Next, I stamped and die cut several of the botanical elements from Forest Floor: Winter. Fun fact: it took me three days of on and off drawing to get a pinecone I was satisfied with for the set. I also cut an oval to fit into the center of the frame and stamped it with a greeting from the set (the comma is separate so you can use it when needed and omit it when you don't). I adhered the oval in the center of the frame with foam tape and then arranged the foliage around it, curving up a few of the branches to add depth.

My second card today features the Glorious Globes: November set. The theme of this month's set is wintery, snowy goodness and I'm loving it! There's a large snowflake in the set that you can use as a globe (it fits in the largest stand), but I've used it on my card today independent of a stand to create a background.

First, I used one of the Nesting Basics: Rectangles to cut a mask for sponging. One of the beautiful things about the Nesting sets is that they are designed to coordinate, so there's no measuring required when you want to do things like this sponged and framed background. Simply cut, sponge, and go. So easy! I sponged a soft Aqua Mist area and then stamped Aqua Mist snowflakes while my mask was still in place. Once I removed my mask, I cut the pierced frame around the blended space.

Next, I stamped and die cut the frame from Forest Floor: Winter. I added a greeting from that same set and layered it with an additional die cut. That gives a little extra depth without the bulk of fifteen layers of foam tape.

I stamped and die cut the globe stands using Weathervane ink and then added the globes from this month's set (the large) and the March edition (the small). I heat embossed the land masses on the small globe with glittered embossing powder to make them sparkle a bit and then added the globes to the front of the card. A simple crochet thread bow was the perfect finishing touch.

Thank you so much for joining me today! I'll be back tomorrow with a couple of additional projects, but in the meantime make sure to pop in on Betsy, Dawn, Heather, Laurie, Melissa B, Melissa P, Michelle, and Stephanie. I'll see you in the morning!

Hi Lizzie! Your designs for this release are AWESOME! I have truly enjoyed (& purchased) the entire Forest Floor collection and I'm loving this month too! Thank you for the time you took to make such beautiful elements. Including your perfect pinecone! I especially like the size & your separate comma. This month's glorious globes is perfect for winter, with separate stamps like the snowflake! P.S. it was hard to see your deer tracks, but I look forward to giving your idea a try. Good thing you don't see bear tracks in the morning! Lol.Hope you have a very nice day!
