Papertrey Ink August Countdown - Day 3

Hello again and welcome back for Day 3 of the August Papertrey Ink Countdown! The Rustic Burlap Impression Plate and Tiny Take Out Box are getting another great workout today. Let's get on to the projects!

This first butterfly ensemble is a little gift and card for a friend.

I started with my card. I began by impressing a panel of Aqua Mist cardstock with the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate and adhered that to a white base before rounding the corners.

Next, I stamped and embossed a sentiment from Bountiful Banners onto a piece of Berry Sorbet cardstock. That was then matted with a scalloped piece of Linen Vellum and adhered to the card front. Then, I wrapped the base with yellow baker's twine and tied a sweet little bow.

Next, I die cut the butterfly from Linen Vellum and stamped it with a coordinating image from Butterfly Kisses. I scored the center of the butterfly and adhered it to a circle that had been stamped with an image from Modern Wood Mats. The woodgrain circle was then mounted to the front of the card with foam tape.

Next up was the little butterfly box. I die cut the box from Berry Sorbet patterned paper and got it all assembled (poking holes in the two short sides). Then, I created a ribbon handle by adhering a 1/2" strip of Lemon Tart cardstock to a strip of saddle-stitched ribbon that I'd trimmed with pinking shears. The cardstock gives the ribbon some sturdiness white the ribbon adds a nice softness and texture to the project. I  used my Crop-A-Dile to punch holes at the ends of the handle and attached the handle to the box with brads. Then, I die cut a second butterfly from Linen Vellum and stamped it with the same image from Butterfly Kisses. I adhered the butterfly to the handle with a bit of Scor Tape.

And inside is a surprise...mini spools of baker's twine to share with a crafty friend! The box holds four spools comfortably, possibly five depending on how fully you wrap your spools. What an adorable way to share supplies!

My final card today is a thinking of you card.

I started by stamping the leafy pattern on a piece of Rustic White cardstock. I did the stamped off leaves first and then went through and added the full-strength leaves as a second step. Then I die cut a circle from the stamped panel and textured it with the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate. The leafy panel was then adhered to a Kraft card base and the large acorn from Autumn Acorns was stamped in the opening.

I die cut and stamped a smaller acorn and mounted that to the base with a bit of foam tape. Then I created a folded banner on Fine Linen cardstock using Ripe Avocado and Classic Kraft (polka dots on the back) inks. I adhered it to the card front and embellished the ends with tiny circles of Dark Chocolate cardstock covered in dark brown Stickles.

I hope you've enjoyed today's projects. I'll be back tomorrow with a few more projects featuring the Tiny Take Out Box and the Rustic Burlap Impression Plate. In the meantime, make sure to check in with NicholeBetsyDawnErinHeatherMaile, and Melissa for even more inspiration. See you tomorrow!
