I began this card by stamping a Classic Kraft panel with Background Basics: Woodgrain to give it a bit of texture. Then, I die cut the panel with the Cover Plate: Comic Strip Die.
I removed the negative pieces and lightly traced the open panels onto a Rustic White card base so I knew where to build my scenes. I created a scene in each panel using stamping, masking, and sponging.
I even added sparkly stars in the tent scene by stamping the Background Basics: Celestial Sky in VersaMark and dusting on Perfect Pearls. Then, I stamped the sentiment in bottom corner panel using Aqua Mist and black inks.
I colored the masked images on the card base then stamped the accessory images from the set on scrap paper and colored those too. All of the small images are from Hello Mother, Hello Father with the exception of the boots in the lower left-hand corner. Those are the snow boots from the Dress Up Dolls: Winter Fun set, but I thought they looked like hiking boots with the right coloring.
I also paper pieced the tent using striped Harvest Gold patterned paper. I cut out the small images and adhered them to the card front with foam tape before embellishing a handful of them with clear glitter.
This will be such a fun card to send to friends back home while we're on vacation later this summer!

Love your card Lizzie!!! So fun!!! Great idea using the comic cover plate to allow for all the little scenes.
Hi Lizzie! What a great idea, love, love your layout! All the great details in each scene makes this an awesome card. And adding the Woodgrain look to your frame, topped it off. I agree with Jane, this is a truly fun card! :)
Everything you make is so creative! I'm always excited to check in on your site.
