Good morning and welcome to the Papertrey Ink October Release Countdown! I'm just popping in quickly to share a project made with my new Dash Away All stamp set (just a reminder: all of the new products will be available on October 15th at 10pm). This set features a leaping reindeer, falling snow, and so much more! I've wanted a set like this for a long time and I'm so excited to be finally bringing it to all of you. Let's take a peek, shall we?
I knew these reindeer would look great paired with a scene on the ground below, so I searched through my collection and found Betsy's Winter Village set. It's a perfect match!
I began by stamping the snow onto a Classic Kraft panel using Fresh Snow ink. Then, I stamped the scene with the house and trees. Bleeding the scene off the edge grounds the images and clues you in that you're supposed to be focused on the top section of the card. Stamping the house and trees above the edge makes them float and doesn't give you a reference for your viewpoint.
Next, I stamped the reindeer in Dark Chocolate. The three deer in a row like this gives you the impression that you're just seeing part of Santa's team. Your imagination sort of fills in the rest of the story.
Finally, I stamped and die cut the sentiment from the set using the narrower banner in the Wine Bottle Tag #2 Die. I added it to the card with foam tape and trimmed off the overhang. I kept this card fairly rustic, without embossing or glitter or anything shiny. You'll see plenty of that later in the week.
Thank you so much for joining me today. I'll be back tomorrow with more projects to share. In the meantime, make sure to pop in on Nichole, Betsy, and Heather to see more of this month's release. See you soon!
