For You - Day 2

Good morning, friends! And welcome back for Day 2 of the Papertrey Ink countdown. I'm sharing more of my new For You collection today with another trio of tags. I mentioned yesterday that this collection is great for gift giving occasions other than birthdays.

Happy Tag Trio

There are separate sentiments for graduation, new home, anniversary, and wedding included in the set to cover many of your potential needs.

Happy New Home Tag

For today's tags, I die cut the streamers tags from Limeade Ice, Summer Sunrise, and Berry Sorbet patterned papers and heat embossed them with the "To:/From:" sentiment from the set.

Happy Graduation Tag

Then, I die cut three Happy tags and stamped them with sentiments from the set using Green Parakeet, Canyon Clay, and Pale Peony inks.

Happy Birthday Streamers Tag

I used twill ribbon matching the patterned papers to connect the two tags and tied on contrasting buttons for a pop of additional color.

Thank you so much for joining me today! Make sure to pop in on Nichole, Betsy, Danielle, Heather, Melissa, Erin, Lexi, and Maile for more of this month's release. See you tomorrow!

Introducing For You

Good morning and welcome to Papertrey Ink's November countdown! All of the wonderful new products I'll be showing over the next several days will be available on the Papertrey store at 10pm on November 15th.I'm excited to be bringing you an all-occasion follow up to my Christmas Cuts collection called For You.

Birthday Tag Trio

This set of stamps and dies focuses mainly on birthday, but includes options for wedding, graduation, new home and more!

Ombre Birthday Tag

I started by die cutting each of the For You tags from white cardstock. I colored the images with Copic markers and then used the new Window Cut Tag die to cut a second layer for each.

Party Streamers Tag

I stamped the window layers with sentiments from the For You stamp set using Royal Velvet, Pale Peony, and Winter Wisteria inks.

Birthday Wishes Tag

I adhered the two pieces together and tied a length of baker's twine to each one. Easy and super cute!

Thank you so much for joining me today! I'll be back tomorrow with more of the For You collection. In the meantime, make sure to check in with Nichole, Ashley, Betsy, Erin, Lexi, and Maile for more inspiration. See you soon!

Moments Inked: Holiday Planning

Good morning, friends! It's my turn to show you how I'm using my Moments Inked planner these days, so I thought I'd share the holiday prep section I put together to keep myself organized this yuletide season. I'm a "function over fuss" kind of planner, so my whole system is fairly simple. It works for me though and I'm excited to use it this year.

I created a dashboard and broke the section into three categories: Mail (our Christmas card mailing list), Gift List (a place to organize gift ideas for everyone on our list), and Don't Forget (somewhere to keep those ever-important To Do lists).

Holiday Prep Dashboard

Let's start with the dashboard. I used the large Binder Page Die to cut a full-size page from Ripe Avocado cardstock and stamped it with Fair Isle Borders using Olive Twist ink.

Holiday Prep Tab

I cut a tab using the Binder Listed Die from Fresh Snow Linen cardstock and added a "Holiday Prep" sticker before adhering it to the Ripe Avocado page.

Holiday Mail Section

Next comes the "Mail" divider. I used a Binder Listed shape cut from Pure Poppy and again stamped with Fair Isle Borders, this time in Scarlet Jewel.

Holiday Mail Tab

I used the envelope and sentiment from Everyday Symbols on the label, die cut from Fresh Snow Linen cardstock using the Divided Die.

Christmas Card List Page

The list page itself was cut from Fresh Snow Linen stock and stamped with the lines from the Listed stamp set using Smokey Shadow ink, masking a few of the lines to make them fit the page. I stamped both sides of the page to make sure I'd have plenty of space to add all of the folks on our list this year. I added a little festive flair to the page using the new Chevron Skinny Washi tape. It's just enough to make things pretty, but it was quick and easy to add.

Postage Envelope

I also die cut an A6 envelope with the large Binder Page. This is such a convenient place to keep my postage. I happened to have some stamps left over from last year, so I tucked those inside the envelope so I wouldn't forget to use them when I'm ready to mail this year.

Holiday Gift List Section

Next is my "Gift List" divider. This time the Binder Listed shape is cut from Simply Chartreuse and stamped with Fair Isle Borders in Ripe Avocado.

Holiday Gift List Tab

The gift bag from Everyday Symbols and the sentiment from Listed paired together to decorate the label.

Gift List Pages

On these pages (I did a few) I used the Listed stamp set for both the lines, in Smokey Shadow, and the header images, in Simply Chartreuse. I'll use the headers to write the recipient's name and then write down gift ideas on the lines below. Once again, I used the red Chevron Skinny Washi tape to decorate the binder edge. Simple and functional.

Gift List & Receipts Envelope

I die cut another envelope, this time for receipts, coupons, or other ads that might come in handy while shopping.

Don't Forget Section

The last category of my Holiday Prep section is a general To Do section. I used an Aqua Mist Binder Listed shape stamped with Fair Isle Borders in Hawaiian Shores ink.

Holiday Don't Forget Tab

I used the finger tied with string and sentiment from Everyday Symbols to embellish the Fresh Snow Linen tab.

Holiday To Do List

I used the Posted II stamp set on my To Do list page. I stamped the lines in Smokey Shadow and the header in Simply Chartreuse, making and stamping twice to keep the images separate. I added the sentiment, also from Posted II, in Pure Poppy as a nod to the holiday. I also decorated with a bit more Chevron Skinny Washi tape. This section will be perfect for writing down reminders for things like setting up Gus's Pet Palace reservation and stopping newspaper delivery.

I hope my clean and simple approach to holiday planning has been fun for you to see this morning. Thank you so much for joining me and have a great week!

More October Release Inspiration

Good morning, friends! Today the Papertrey Ink designers are sharing even more inspiration using the October release. I had a blast creating for the upcoming holiday season. A little mood music and a mistletoe candle and I was in the zone! This is going to be a photo heavy post, but I'm not going to go into too much detail, so feel free to leave any questions in the comments and I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can. All of the recipes will also be at the end of the post, so you can check there for specific stamp sets, ink colors, dies, etc. That said, let's get on to the projects!

Let's kick things off with an ornament I made with Betsy's newest Tiny Town: Gingerbread die collection.

Gingerbread House Ornament

I used painted coasters to create a base. A little Mod Podge, Polyfil, and glitter makes for a nice, snowy landscape.

Gingerbread House Ornament Side

The fence, garland, and wreaths are from the coordinating Holiday Yard set.

Gingerbread House Ornament Top

There's a fine coating of glitter on the roof and architectural details to give everything a fully sugary vibe.

Gingerbread House Ornament Back

I sponged a little bit of ink around the edges, too, to give it a freshly baked appearance. I can't wait to hang this on the tree this year!

Up next, I have a hostess gift featuring Dawn's Cozy Christmas thermoses and a sentiment from Christmas Cuts Sentiments.

Hospitality Coffee Bag

This is the small window coffee bag that Papertrey sells.

Hospitality Coffee Bag Bow

I used both of the new bow dies to create a wrap around the top of the bag. It's not adhered to the bag, so it will come off easily.

Hospitality Coffee Bag Thermoses

The large Fancy Flakes die is a great base for these charming thermoses.

Next, I have a shaker card I made with Maile's Shaped Sayings: Christmas die.

Merry Christmas Shaker Card

I didn't use any stamps at all on this card. No stamps! The dies do all the hard work. I inlaid the Shaped Sayings die cut and cut out the center with a circle die (so you could actually see the shaker insides)

Merry Christmas Shaker Close Up

I filled my shaker with chunky glitter and sequins.

How about a gift tag? This one features Nichole's new Script Swirls: Christmas.

Script Swirls Christmas Tag

I stamped the sentiment and images directly on the tag and then layered a banner that I'd heat embossed with the "To:/From:" from Christmas Cuts Sentiments.

Next up, I have a colorful, modern holiday card made with Maile's new Quick Notes: Holiday set.

Quick Notes Merry & Bright Card

I die cut one plate from each color of cardstock and inlaid the strips in the white panel. I used the largest Double Ups: Rectangle to emboss scallops into the card base before adhering the striped panel into place.

Quick Notes Merry & Bright Close Up

I used assorted sizes of clear rhinestones to add a hint of sparkle to the snowflakes.

Another tag? Don't mind if I do. I used another of Maile's new sets, Splits: 'Tis The Season, on this one.

Christmas Candle Tag

I gold embossed the candle and holly frame onto watercolor paper and then colored it simply with Zig watercolor pens. The sentiment is also from Christmas Cuts Sentiments.

Next, I've used Betsy's Dress Up Dolls: Let's Bake set to decorate a tube of treats!

Christmas Cookie Tube

I heat embossed the sentiment onto the tube with white powder. You have to be careful of the plastic window if you do this - it will melt. I used a spare cutting plate to protect the window from my heat gun and I worked as quickly as possible to minimize heat exposure.

Christmas Cookie Tube Sentiment

The little baker fella was stamped onto white cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils. His apron was heat embossed and hand cut.

Christmas Cookie Tube Boy

I adhered him to the tube with scortape and used Pure Poppy Saddle Stitch ribbon to bring it all together. And just in case you're wondering, the tube holds 10 Oreos perfectly.

This next card pairs Nichole's Botanical Blocks IV with her Keep It Simple: Just A Note set.

Holly Just A Note Card

I colored the holly with Copics and used Glossy Accents to give dimension and shine to the berries.

Holly Just A Note Close Up

The focal block is surrounded with Aqua Mist blocks and the sentiment is heat embossed on a Sketched Shapes banner.

And last, but not least, I have a card made with Betsy's Inspired: Hope set.

Hold On To Hope Card

November is Lung Cancer awareness month, so I chose to use a white ribbon in my project. This design could be easily adjusted to accommodate nearly any colored ribbon though.

Hold On To Hope Close Up

I used my recent Make It Monday technique to create the background. The white space behind the butterfly wings is completely glittered, so it truly sparkles.

Thank you so much for joining me today! Nichole, Amy, Ashley, Betsy, Danielle, Heather, Kay, Laurie, and Melissa all have more to share with you, too. See you again soon!

Release In Review

Good morning! Welcome back to the Release In Review Day for this month's Papertrey Ink October countdown. I have a couple more projects to share with you and then I'll have another post for you later in the month with even more inspiration. All that said, let's get on to the projects!

First up, I have a card made with Betsy's What The Doodle: Snowflakes set. I couldn't wait to use this set to make a spinner card!

Most Wonderful Time Card

I began by stamping and die cutting two of the large snowflakes. I used a pale blue Copic to color in a few choice areas and I adhered the snowflakes together back-to-back with a strand of thread between them. Next I die cut a circle from a white card base and a panel of Dark Indigo cardstock. I stamped the Dark Indigo piece with the flurry image and a few of the smaller snowflakes before heat embossing the sentiment with silver powder.

Most Wonderful Time Close Up

I adhered the Dark Indigo layer to the card base making sure to secure the ends of the thread with extra-strong adhesive. I used a small, pinked strip of metallic silver cardstock along the bottom edge to add interest and embellished the spinning snowflake with silver rhinestones for an extra touch of sparkle. I love that this set is so elegant and playful at the same time!

Lastly for today, I have another set of Christmas Cuts Tags to share with you.

Patterned Christmas Cuts Tags

I began by sponging three pieces of cardstock with a coordinating ink color to deepen the edges (I used Pale Peony/Berry Sorbet, Simply Chartreuse/Ripe Avocado, and Aqua Mist/Hawaiian Shores).

Patterned Christmas Cuts Tags Close Up 1

After die cutting, I stamped each one with a different background pattern. Then I heat embossed the sentiments onto the tags with white detail powder and tied on a bit of white crochet thread.

Patterned Christmas Cuts Tags Close Up 2

These were so quick and easy and I love how the white embossing pops!

Thank you so much for joining me today! Make sure to pop in with Nichole, Amy, Ashley, Betsy, Danielle, Heather, Kay, Laurie, and Melissa to see more of this month's release. See you again soon!
