Good morning and welcome to this month’s Stitching Focus! I’m Lizzie Jones, your Stitching Ambassador and I am so excited to be here sharing with you today! I wanted to create something for this month that you could make to pamper yourself. So often the items we craft by hand are made to bless other people, but sometimes showing ourselves a little love is just what we need. These lavender sachets are pretty, easy, and ideal for adding a bit of everyday luxury to your drawers. Let’s take a closer look at this month’s featured product!
This set of nesting hearts is such a charming shape and they stitch together in no time flat! There’s even a die included in this set that you can use to turn your hearts into pockets. Fill the hearts with treats and messages or simply stitch up the edges for a cute, contrasting detail.
Erin used the pocket die to add a pocket to these adorable Valentines. The bouquet from Everyday Button Bits fits perfectly! Buttons are ideal for projects that you’ll hand deliver rather than mail.
Melissa also used the large heart cut from patterned paper as the backdrop for her Fresh Floral Wrap-Ups bouquet. She also used the pocket die to create a little pocket for slipping in a Tremendous Tag. The sentiment from Keep It Simple: Love takes on a unique twist by getting stamped up the edge of the heart.
Erin created this adorable Valentine garland by stringing together Pure Poppy, Hibiscus Burst, and Raspberry Fizz hearts. The Cross Stitch Alphabet letters were the perfect size for adding her friendly message and the Valentine Stitches Die Collection provided Cupid’s crossed arrows. Such a cute decoration for the day of love!
Melissa used the holes only die from the die collection to give her background a bit more interest. The holes add an eyelet-style design that looks fantastic with or without floss. She finished her beautiful card with stamped hearts and a die cut sentiment from the XOXOcollection (which retires on May 15th, so make sure to get it before it’s gone).
Kay’s felt heart ornament is sure to brighten even the cloudiest day. She rearranged the Stitched Folk Flower shapes to create a unique, colorful design that’s simply gorgeous!
The Stitched Primitive Hearts Die seemed to me like it was just begging to be turned into a set of sweetly-scented sachets. The hearts are a wonderful size and they can be whipped together in an afternoon. That’s not much time at all! And at the end of the day, there’s a practical gift for yourself or another deserving lady.
Thank you so much for joining me! I hope this post has inspired you to make something for yourself today. Have a wonderful, crafty weekend and I’ll see you again soon!
