Good morning, friends! Are you enjoying this month's
Papertrey Ink countdown? The team is back today to introduce a couple of amazing new stamp sets and dies that I'm positive you're going to adore!
You all know how much I love Botanical Bounty. I mean, ugh, it's so beautiful it almost hurts. Well, good news for all of you that love Botanical Bounty as much as I do...there's a second edition coming your way! That's right! Jennifer Campbell's
Botanical Bounty II is releasing this month! Huzzah!
To start today's card, I stamped and die cut a whole buncha flowers and leaves. I went with reds and pinks on the flowers and yellowy greens on the foliage. I love it! It feels so rich to me.
To prepare the background, I die cut the new
Bold Borders: Wave from Yupo paper and created a stencil. I sponged Spring Rain onto a white card front through the stencil to transfer the pattern (inspired by handmade Japanese paper) and then adhered that panel to a Spring Rain card base.
Next, I stamped a Banner Style sentiment onto the coordinating die and adhered it to the front of the card with foam adhesive. Then, I just tucked and arranged the flowers around the banner. Good golly that's luscious. I'm going to love this new set as much as the first!
We're also introducing a cool new die and mini stamp set designed by Kimberly Crawford. She handlettered the
Love Die and created a set of handy sentiments called
With All My Heart to complement it. So cute!
For my card today, I decided to die cut the Love die from masking paper and stamp around it using the Botanical Bounty II images.
The trick when you're doing a design like this is to place your mask and then lightly sponge a base color first. That way your edges are defined just a little bit in the event that your floral stamping has gaps. And it likely will because too much overlap can make things feel a touch overcrowded.
Once I was done with my florals, I simply stamped the companion sentiment in True Black and tied a Rustic Jute bow around that panel. Then, I mounted that panel to a Classic Kraft card base. Easy and colorful!
Thank you so much for joining me today! I'll be back tomorrow with a few more projects to share. In the meantime,
Betsy,
Dawn,
Heather,

Very pretty cards! Thanks for sharing your techniques!
ReplyDeleteHi Lizzie! May I ask, was your base color in your LOVE design a light green? I'm very interested because I just recently made a card with masking where I had trouble with "white gaps" showing. Your cards today are BEAUTIFUL.
ReplyDeleteOh, Lizzie, you really set the bar high today!! Your cards are absolutely beautiful!! Love your color choices, and the balance is perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe colour palettes on your cards are fantastic. I love the loose style of these florals.
ReplyDeleteToday your cards are my favorites. The banner on the first card really made the cards stand out. Your second card is so pretty and soft.
