Introducing Too Hot To Handle & The Truffle Tote Box Die

Good morning, friends, and welcome back to Day 4 of the Papertrey Ink August countdown! I'm back today sharing a few projects with my new Too Hot To Handle stamp set and Truffle Tote Box Die. I love to bake and share homemade treats, so I designed these products to make giving gifts from my kitchen a little more stylish. Let's take a closer look!

My first project today is a super quick and easy Truffle Tote. These boxes come together so fast, especially when you're using patterned paper.

Enjoy! Truffle Tote

I began by creating the Truffle Tote from Soft Stone patterned paper. Then, I die cut an oval layer using the one of the window dies included in the Die Collection (there are oval and rectangular options). I stamped the sentiment from Too Hot To Handle onto the oval and adhered it to the front of the box with foam tape. Then, I die cut and stamped one of the solid oven mitts using Pure Poppy and Aqua Mist inks. I attached that to the box with just a bit more foam tape. This box was such a snap to put together! The whole thing took only 10 minutes or so. I love it when that happens!

Supplies:

Now here's a box that took longer, but I think was totally worth the effort.

Lovin' From My Oven Truffle Tote

I started this Truffle Tote by stamping a pattern with the images from Too Hot To Handle in a blue and green color scheme. I die cut the box and then used the rectangular window to cut an opening in the front of the box.

The windows have a scalloped detail that embosses when you die cut that I just can't get enough of. I backed the window with clear cardstock and then assembled my box like normal.

Next, I created a tag using the new Bite Size Tags Die and a Double Ended Banner. I die cut the tag from Mint Julep cardstock and stamped it with the greeting from Too Hot To Handle. Then stamped an open oven mitt with Vintage Jadeite ink. Next, I added the companion sentiment on a die cut banner (the banner was originally a tad bit long, so I die cut it a second time to shorten it a smidge). I tied that to the handle of the assembled Truffle Tote with baker's twine.

Here's a better look at the stamped pattern on the box. I absolutely love stamping patterns like this. It's like a puzzle!

Supplies:

Next up is a set of tags that I created by pairing Too Hot To Handle with the Bowl Of Sunshine and Second Helping Of Sunshine sets. I designed Too Hot To Handle to be the ideal complement and I love how they work together.

Special Treat Tags

I started by die cutting and stamping the bowls and utensils. I stamped each bowl with a lighter color and then followed up by sponging on a second, darker color. The utensils (spoons and rolling pins) were inked once in Fine Linen and then kissed with the Background Basics: Woodgrain pattern in Classic Kraft for a touch of texture. Then, I die cut a Basic Cut Tag and Window Cut Tag for each. I sponged the Basic Cut Tags with the lighter color from each bowl and stamped them with the sentiment from Too Hot To Handle. I adhered the tags together and then added the bowls and utensils with dimensional adhesive. A little baker's twine finished them off nicely. These will be wonderful for tying to goodie bags!

Supplies:

I have one last project to share with you today. This one is a card that pairs Too Hot To Handle with Dawn's Family Ties set to create a card for Mom.

Mom You're The Best Card

I began by sponging Vintage Jadeite dots onto a Mint Julep panel using Dawn's new Stencil Basics: Dots stencil. Then, I pressed the oval window die into the cardstock using an impression plate sandwich so I would have the embossed scallops. I adhered that panel to a scalloped card base with foam tape.

Mom You're The Best Card 2

Then, I die cut an additional oval from white cardstock and stamped it with the Family Ties sentiment in Pure Poppy ink. I used a bit more foam tape to adhere that to the card front and then added a die cut "mom" using the coordinating die collection.

Mom You're The Best Card 3

Next, I die cut the oven mitts from Vintage Linens patterned paper. I heat embossed the open mitts onto the die cuts with white detail powder and then added the looped trim with Pure Poppy ink. I added those to the card with more foam tape. Wouldn't this be the perfect Mother's Day card for a mom who loves to bake?!

Supplies:

Well, that's all for me today. Make sure to check in with Nichole and Stephanie today as they feature Too Hot To Handle and Laurie as she takes the Truffle Tote for a spin. Betsy and Heather also have projects to share, so don't forget to visit them too. I'll see you again tomorrow with more of this month's release. Have a great day!
