I focused on just the New Year part of the die yesterday, so I thought today I'd give the Christmas part a little attention.
I started by stamping a row of trees in Limeade Ice ink. I wanted more trees than were on the original stamp, so I did a little masking to extend the line a bit. I went back in and filled in the baubles with Hibiscus Burst, Hawaiian Shores, and Summer Sunrise inks. Then, I glittered the baubles and coated them with Glossy Accents. This both gives them dimension and keeps the glitter contained.
While that dried, I die cut the Text Block: Christmas shape from Hibiscus Burst stock and trimmed out the sections I didn't want to use. Then I decorated a white card base with some patterned paper and a scalloped strip. I tied a crochet thread bow around the base and then mounted my tree and sentiment panel with foam tape.
Thank you for popping in today! I'll see you again tomorrow with another peek. In the meantime, Nichole, Ashley, Betsy, Danielle, Dawn, Erin, Heather, Laura, Laurie, Maile, and Melissa are all sharing projects with you today. See you again tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteLove how you can take the text block die and use certain words and phases
ReplyDeleteFabulous card! fabulous colours and I just the versatility of this text block die - Thank you :-)
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful card. This one could be used as a shaker card if you die cut multiple pieces and stacked them like Laurie Willison did on her ornament.
ReplyDeleteI really like that you showed us how we could use just half the sentiment inside the frame.
ReplyDeleteI like the non-traditional Christmas colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea on using glitter and coating the baubles. I love how my favorite text block die can be used to suit each holiday.
