Bowl Of Sunshine - Day 3

Hello again, friends, and welcome back for Day 3 of the June Papertrey Ink new release countdown! I am so excited to hear that you're all enjoying Bowl Of Sunshine (available June 15th). It's such a fun, versatile set that will work with just about any sentiments you already have in your collection. How about I show you, eh?

My first project is another little "thinking of you" card. I wanted to show how easy it is to create simple projects with plenty of dimension.

I began by stamping the outline bowl onto the back of a piece of Harvest Gold Leaves paper. I did the stamping on the back to keep from having an outline on my finished piece. I fussy cut the bowl and heat embossed it with a couple of layers of clear embossing powder. The result looks like glazed ceramic! I adhered that to a die cut bowl for a little stability and to make sure the bowl was fully opaque (the lighter colors of patterned paper can get a tiny bit translucent when you apply this much VersaMark/embossing powder).

Next, I stamped the shadow, limes (one simple color switch makes the lemons into limes!), leaves, and sentiment onto a white card base. I mounted my bowl to the card front with foam tape to finish it off. Quick and clean...my favorite kind of card.

My second project uses one of the bowl stripes to create a rainbow pattern.

I began by stamping the rainbow stripes onto a narrow piece of cardstock. When I had finished my stamping I cut the rainbow panel in half to give me two strips. Next, I mounted the strips to a Classic Kraft card base with foam tape.

Then, I created my sentiment banner. I die cut the banner shape from vellum cardstock using the First Place Die Collection. I stamped the sentiment, from Dawn's new Thank You Kindly set, and heat embossed using white detail powder. I adhered the banner to the rainbow strips using vellum tape and embellished the rainbow pattern with a few matching sequins. Another simple card that packs a punch.

That's all for me for now. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Make sure to check in with Nichole, Ashley, Danielle, Dawn, Erin, Heather, and Melissa for even more inspiration with this month's new stamps. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow!
