Good morning, friends, and welcome to this week's
Papertrey Ink Throwback Thursday feature! This week
Melissa Philips,
Michelle Leone, and I are all sharing projects showcasing
Grand Ampersand. This is a set that I often turn to for wedding and love projects. There's so much meaning, unity, and togetherness in that simple symbol. It just so happens that I have a wedding coming up this weekend, so this was the perfect opportunity to pull out this set and give it an elegant twist by pairing it with a gorgeous new floral!
I began by stamping a spray of
Botanical Bounty flowers and greenery onto a Rustic White card base. Since this is for a spring wedding, I used light, bright, romantic colors that fit the season. I used a blending sponge and stamp press to add depth to each image. It's a small thing, but it really adds a lot of interest when your design is as uncluttered as this one.
Next, I die cut a panel using the new
Noted: Simply Stitched A2 die collection. I trimmed off one end, die cut the ampersand from the center, and heat embossed the simple sentiment using white powder.
I adhered the sentiment panel to the card front with foam tape right over the stamped flowers. I tried to get a little bit of all of the colors in there so the ampersand would be nice and decorative. I know the card is simple, but I love it. All that white space is right up my alley!
I hope you've enjoyed today's post! Make sure to pop in on
Melissa and
Michelle to see how they're using
Grand Ampersand today. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon!
