Holy.
Cow.
Did you see the announcement in today's newsletter? Let me begin by mentioning that I have been a Papertrey Ink fan since way back in the beginning, so this design team position is a total dream come true. I'm seriously still pinching myself. I couldn't believe it when Nichole asked me to join the release team and, frankly, I'm still sort of waiting for her to tell me she sent that email by mistake. I truly appreciate this opportunity and I want to thank Nichole, Julie, and Jane for giving me a shot.
Laura Bassen is leaving some major shoes to fill and I'm going to miss her (and her rainbows) so, so, so much. I wish her the very best of everything for ever and ever.
I'm going to move on before I start gushing (more) or telling you about that one time I met Nichole and accidentally got makeup all over her bright white cardigan because it was August in Orlando and my face was melting off. That would be an embarrassing story to share, so I'm not going to do it. Heh. I'm really excited and I hope you're all excited too.
How about we get on to a card now, eh?
Here's the inspiration photo we're using this month:
This image comes to us from Sally's Baking Addiction and is just about the most wonderful mix of playful and sophisticated that I can imagine. I can’t help but smile when I look at the cheerful colors in this bouquet. I thought it might be fun to switch up the typical primary colors and use this palette to create a back-to-school card for a teacher. I also wanted to share how you can use L'Shanah Tovah in your school time creations. I'd considered using the apple on a teacher card during the countdown, but ultimately decided that Rosh Hashanah deserved my full attention and I could always show this option later. So here we are!
Next, I stamped a Summer Sunrise card front with a variety of images from Circle Scribbles in Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise inks. I tied a baker's twine bow around my notebook paper piece and mounted the panel to the card front with foam tape. All in all it's a fairly simple card and would be a breeze to put together for your kiddo's new teachers.
Thank you so much for joining me today and I'll see you again very soon! So long!
