August Color Play

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the August Papertrey Ink Color Play! This month I've chosen a photo that reminds me of all of the beautiful produce available right now. I am so inspired by the vibrant colors at my local farmers market and I knew when I saw this photo that it would be perfect for a Color Play feature.

Just look at those colors! Aren't they gorgeous? The beets, tomatoes, and greens are so wonderfully earthy!

To start, I die cut the scalloped circle, small circle, wine tag, and leaves from Rustic White cardstock. The wine tag was also cut from Limeade Ice. I stamped my flower using Scarlet Jewel (stamped off once for the petals and at full strength for the detail) and Summer Sunrise (the circle was stamped off once and the small flower was added at full strength). I used stamping off here to give my flower a bit of extra visual texture. The leaves were stamped using New Leaf ink. Next, I stamped my polka dots onto my wine tag with Limeade Ice ink. Then, I trimmed down the sides of the tag ever so slightly so that there would be a thin border when the two wine tags were layered.

I stamped my sentiment and the whole wine tag bonanza was adhered to a woodgrain-impressed Kraft base. I adhered my leafy branches to the wine tag and curved their ends upward for a little dimension. The flower was mounted with foam tape as was the flower center. To finish the card, I added three rhinestones (colored to match with a Copic marker) in varying sizes to the flower's center. That's all for me and this month's Color Play. I hope you'll try out the palette for yourself and share your project over on the Papertrey Ink Challenge forum! Until next time...
